Eternity – Time Without End

This morning, we explored what the scripture has to say about our future, what we can expect regarding eternity. The 40 days following Jesus’ resurrection gives us a glimpse into what our resurrected bodies will be like throughout eternity. Jesus appeared in a physical body that could be touched, people recognized him, he enjoyed a fish dinner on the banks of the Sea of Galilee with his disciples, he appeared and disappeared in and out of rooms, and he rose into the sky when he told his followers good-bye. Scripture assures us that Jesus is coming back for us. The Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 that the presence of God’s Spirit that we receive when we are Born Again is a guarantee of what is to come. It is very important to know that eternity in heaven is an instant gift, not a lifetime achievement award.
