Handling Change: From Anger & Resentment to Forgiveness & Relinquishment

In this sermon we are looking into the Dysfunctional family of Jacob recorded in Gen 28-50. The hurts of childhood drove Jacob's sons to choose between killing or selling their brother Joseph as a slave. Throughout Joseph's life he lived with hate and resentment. He had to exchange Anger & Resentment for Forgiveness & Relinquishment.

The power to forgive comes as a divine gift.  We choose to forgive, but God empowers our forgiveness. The desire for vengeance can be so overpowering that without God’s intervention, genuine forgiveness rarely takes place.
