Our Advocate

When John declares in 1 John 2:1 – 2 that we have an advocate who intercedes on our behalf, he is referring to Jesus serving as our spiritual High Priest.

So, how did Jesus, who was from the tribe of Judah, become a High Priest. God’s law stated that the priest must be from the Tribe of Levi and a descendant of Aaron.

God did not change his law to enable Jesus to become our High Priest. There was another priestly order that existed before the time of the Israelites. Today we are going to learn about God’s plan for Jesus to become our Hight Priest and serve as our advocate.
